Even at that time, there was plausible research that could point to a device that could capture ectoplasm or materialization at least visually." Aykroyd thought, "Let's redo one of those old ghost comedies, but let's use the research that's being done today. Aykroyd came up with Ghostbusters after reading an article about quantum physics and parapsychology in the American Society of Psychical Research Journal and then watching movies like Ghostchasers. If you're as much of a Ghostbusters fan as I was and still am, I hope you'll give this item a good home and maybe use it to raise up the next generation of GB fans. The concept of the first film was inspired by Dan Aykroyd's own fascination with the paranormal, and it was conceived by Aykroyd as a vehicle for himself and friend and fellow Saturday Night Live alum John Belushi.
EXTREME GHOSTBUSTERS PROTON PACK TOY FREE
If you have any questions before bidding, feel free to contact me and ask. If you press the red button on the lever to the side of the pack, a robotic voice will drone out something like "PROTON MEGA-BLAST" or some other phrase, accompanied by the appropriate proton mega blast noises, and the circle in the center of the pack still lights up along with it.I only ship to the U.S., I only accept payment through Paypal and because the item is sold as-is I don't accept returns. It's likely my parents threw those parts out in some toy-purge years ago.One further thing to note, though, is that (amazingly, I think) the "lights and sounds" still work. I will include any additional parts I find but most of the area where it was stored is already cleared out, and I don't count on finding any more of them. So, once again, whatever is visible in the pictures is what you will receive if you win the auction, nothing more, nothing less. Also, I believe there was some kind of projectile that shot out from the gun (I can't recall what it might have looked like, other than perhaps a vague memory of some foam lightning bolt-esque thing) but sadly that too is lost. There's some general dust and scratching all over the toy, so it is far from mint condition. The light-up circle on the back of the pack has quite a bit of scratching on it, though I don't find it terribly noticeable unless you're really looking closely. Whatever sticker/decals are on it were put, I think, in the appropriate places when I first got it. If memory serves me, the stickers on it were not put there by the manufacturer, but were provided "do it yourself" for some reason. I believe it is missing two of the colored tubes that insert into the back of the "gun" portion of the toy (the third "tube," the green one, has been attached to it since I last used it in the late 1990s). Hopefully it will be sold to a fellow Ghostbusters fan who will take good care of it, and maybe share it with someone young (and small) enough to enjoy it as originally intended. What you see in the pictures is what you get I don't have any of the other parts to go with it.

Still, I need to clear out clutter, and as this pack doesn't look quite as good on me as it did in 1997, I think it is time to sell it. I never watched "Extreme Ghostbusters" regularly, but at the time it was all that existed to inspire toys for young fans such as myself.I hate to part with this item because I hold such fond memories of it, including a memorable turn as a Ghostbuster for Halloween '97 or '98.
EXTREME GHOSTBUSTERS PROTON PACK TOY SERIES
I became obsessed with Ghostbusters that year, having grown up watching "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon series years earlier.
